I am very pleased to have announced the hirings of a new baseball staff for the coming Fall. We were very fortunate to have an outstanding pool of candidates for both positions.

Jon Strauss, who was on the staff at Long Beach State in 2005-2006, will be our new pitching coach. Jon will also serve as our Recruiting Coordinator. He has proven over the course of his career to be an excellent recruiter and a fine baseball technician. I feel we were very fortunate to be able to bring Jon on board.

Matt Markovich has been the Head Baseball Coach at San Francisco State the previous five years. He has done a wonderful Job with that program. Matt will be in charge of our hitters, an area that he has great knowledge of. Coach Matt will also coordinate our Academic Program which of course is very important to us.

James Brack will join us as our Volunteer Coach. James was the Head Coach at Harker Academy last year after coaching High School Baseball for several years in the State of Washington. He will assist us in coaching the outfielders and our baserunners.

I am very pleased at the addition of these fine young coaches. They have a high energy level that will permeate among our players. Please feel free to attend practices and Intra-Squads this Fall. We will post our Intra-Squad schedule on our website sometime in September.
