USC Game to be on National Television

The season opener pitting San Jose State against The University of Southern California will kickoff at 12:30, the SJSU athletic department announced on Tuesday. Also, the game will be a National Telecast.

This will mark the second season in a row that the Spartans will showcase three games on National Television. The Sept. 5 opener against USC will be televised on Fox SportsNet's Pacific-10 Conference national television package at 12:30 p.m.,, the San Jose State athletic department announced on Tuesday.

"It's appropriate (the national coverage). We are the only team to play two (2008) BCS (Bowl Championship Series) champions this season and we start off our schedule with them (USC and Utah on September 12)," says San Jose State football head coach Dick Tomey. "Our team will get a chance to be seen all over the country and are guys are hard at work to put their best foot forward."
