2009 San Jose State Football Schedule

Spartan fans have for some time known the San Jose State out-of-conference football schedule. On Tuesday the WAC released the full 2009 conference schedule to schools, and today it was officially announced by the SJSU Athletic Department. SJSU has one scheduled televised game on Sunday, Nov. 8 against Nevada at Spartan Stadium.
The
San Jose State
football program did not shy way from competition when scheduling the upcoming football season. It's long been known that the Spartans open their 2009 campaign on the road Sept. 5 against perennial national powerhouse

. Things don't get any easier as the Spartans return home the following week to host last years BCS No. 2

On Sept. 19 SJSU travels up the road to Palo Alto looking for revenge after last year's 23-10 shellacking at the hands of the
Stanford
Cardinal. The Spartans then host Football Championship Subdivision (formerly D-1AA) powerhouse Cal Poly-SLO on Sept. 26.
SJSU takes a week off before opening the WAC schedule on Oct. 10 at home against
Idaho
. This will also be the Homecoming game. The Spartans then travel to
Fresno State
to take on the arch-rival Bulldogs.
The Spartans have another bye-week before traveling to Idaho to take on conference powerhouse
Boise State
. The Broncos will be the third 2008 BCS top-15 team SJSU faces in 2009.
On Nov. 8 SJSU hosts
Nevada
. Note that this is a Sunday contest and will be televised on ESPN. The following week sees the Spartans travel to Logan for a match up against
Utah State
.
San Jose State hosts back-to-back contests when Spartan Stadium welcomes the Warriors of Hawai'i on Nov. 21 followed by
New Mexico State
with their new head coach DeWayne Walker on Nov. 29.
SJSU completes its regular season on the road when the Spartans travel to Rustin to face
Louisiana Tech
