SJSU Vs USU- Be There When Thunder Strikes!

Since arriving here 20 months ago, I have listened carefully to you as a nation of committed Spartans. I have committed my team and my department to build a true Culture of Champions. As our student-athletes, coaches, and staff make small significant strides to changing the paradigm; I need you to know, we will not truly succeed without the nation of Sparta to join us in the quest. -Tom Bowen

Many thanks to San Jose State Athletic Director, Thomas Bowen, for his "exclusive" submission to this web site.

This is the first time in history that any Athletic Director at San Jose State has reached out to the SJS fans via an independantly ran Spartan athletics fan site.

A big Thunder "thank you" goes out to AD Thomas Bowen for his continued support.

Let's not let him or his hard working staff down on homecoming week!

And now a word from AD Bowen!

Dear SpartanThunder.com Enthusiasts!

Mia and I had another fantastic day at Spartan Stadium last Saturday, culminated with the victorious performance by our student-athletes in the gridiron.

I appreciate all of the warm and sincere welcomes we have received....Thank you!

I cannot Thank you enough for all of your consistent and valued support of our student-athletes and my coaches.

Since arriving here 20 months ago, I have listened carefully to you as a nation of committed Spartans. I have committed my team and my department to build a true "Culture of Champions".

Please note;. the past 20 months have been some of the most challenging moments in my athletic administrative career, I did not accept this position from President Kassing to solve all the injustices of the past, but to build a program for the future.

I believe we are beginning to see a real permanent change. That change is across the department in every single athletic program.

As our student-athletes,coaches, and staff make small, significant strides to changing the paradigm; I need you to know, we will not truly succeed without the nation of Sparta to join us in this quest.

On Saturday October 14th, WE will celebrate homecoming.

Today, I am calling all men and women of Sparta, the 159,000 graduates of this great university, along with the current student population, to show up in support at Spartan Stadium.

On this one day, October 14th, take a moment to join together in a real, visible, and tangible way to cement our support of our University and our student-athletes.

The message is clear, the time is now and I am asking everyone to tell a fellow Spartan, that October 14th is OUR day.

Challenge your friends, classmates, and families. This is our day to stand proud and tell the Bay Area that the Spartans are Forever.

This is our day to come together as a community linked together by this great University, and the extraordinary group of men who wear our colors and compete. To stand up and cheer for SJSU.

I hope that you can embrace this challenge, and together form your resolve to act as an ambassador for October 14th.

I look forward to seeing all of you again, and I appreciate very much this chance to send my message to you.

I eagerly await our efforts together.

Warm Regards,

Tom Bowen
