Zac Wasserman, 6-4, 210 pound quarterback formerly of Westlake (Calif.) and Penn State will decide in the next couple of weeks between Hawaii and San Jose State. Wasserman has already taken official visits to both schools and a decision could be coming shortly.

Wasserman came out of Westlake three years ago and after a stellar prep career, signed with Penn State over Texas A&M. Wasserman was a member of the first Student Sports Elite that included Chris Rix (Florida State), Casey Clausen (Tennessee), Jeff Smoker (Michigan State) and Brock Berlin (Miami) among others.

Things didn't work out at Penn State for Wasserman for various reasons and he was granted his release last spring. He transferred to L.A Valley J.C (Calif.) this past year and will have three years of eligibility left.

The quarterback has narrowed his choices to Hawaii and San Jose State and there's plusses for each school according to Wasserman's father Charles.

"San Jose State is closer to home and there's a good chance that Zac could play early there," Charles said. "At Hawaii, he really likes June Jones and the quarterback coach. Zac is actually there right now visiting his uncle so having family is another plus. When he comes back home, he's planning to take an unofficial to San Jose State before he makes his decision but I know Hawaii might be tough to beat out right now.

"They have some good quarterbacks at Hawaii including Timmy Chang who would be in the same class as Zac but he's not afraid of competition and knows there is going to be good quarterbacks no matter what college you're playing for."

Again, a decision for Wasserman could be coming in the next week or so and we'll let you know as soon as we hear where he's headed.
