San Jose State fans will learn today who will lead the Spartans on the gridiron. A press conference has been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. local time for the announcement.

Today is the day! The San Jose State Athletic Department put out a release early on Monday announcing a press conference at 2:00 p.m. to introduce the new head football coach.

Several names have been thrown around, including former offensive coordinator John DeFillipo, now the quarterbacks coach the the NFL Oakland Raiders.

Another name is University of San Diego head man Ron Caragher, who did reportedly interview with the Spartans.

The new coach will take over for Mike MacIntyre who, after a 10-2 season and a Military Bowl berth, left to take the helm at Colorado.
