Denver, Colo.- San Jose State University wide receiver Chandler Jones and defensive end Travis Johnson were honored as two of the three Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Players of the Week.

Jones, a sophomore from Los Angeles (Bishop Montgomery HS), was named the Offensive Player of the Week. Johnson, a junior from Sunnyvale (The King's Academy), was cited as the Special Teams Player of the Week.

Jones scored three touchdowns three different ways in San Jose State's 28-27 win over Hawaii on October 14. His first touchdown was a 20-yard run. Jones added a 23-yard fumble return following a Hawaii fumble on a kickoff. His final touchdown, a 37-yard pass reception with 36 seconds remaining, proved to be the game-winning score for the Spartans.

Johnson was credited with two blocked kicks on Hawaii scoring tries in the fourth quarter. He blocked a PAT try that turned into two points for San Jose State on a defensive conversion that closed the Spartans' deficit to 27-22. Later in the quarter, he blocked a 42-yard field goal attempt that kept the score the same and gave the Spartans an opportunity to win the game.
